::Hello,
::I'm trying to verify the connection between Peter Bertram Jacobson and Jakob Andreas Jakobsen Winther. My family information would indicated that Peter is Jakob's son but I'm having trouble verifying. I got the Winther family history that goes down to Peder Tønder Jacobsen Winther, Jakob's father but nothing recent from there. I just got some information from another relative that indicated that my Peter had two brothers who died at sea while fishing. This would match up with the confirmed sons of Jakob, Jakob and Jens, if they did indeed die at sea. The problem arises that Jakob and Jens were born in 1823 and 1826 respectively and Peter was born in 1837. This seems an awfully long gap for that period unless there was a number of other children in between that I don't know about. :: ::Another problem arises in that while doing some searching on the FamilySearch site I found a Peder Bertrim Jacobson born around the right time whose father was Jakob Andreas Pedersen. :: ::I suppose that I should also mention that Peter was born in Tranoy. :: ::If anyone out there can help me sort this confusion out I would really appreciate it. :: ::Thanks, ::Dave : :Could there be a mix up in your family history ? My family history says this : : :Gen 1 Jakob Pedersen Winther b.1653 :Gen 2 Jakob Jakobsen Winther b.1698 :Gen 3 Jakob Jakobsen Winther b.1741 :Gen 4 Peder Tønder Jakobsen Winther b. 1765 :Gen 5 Jakob Andreas Pedersen Winther b.1795 :Gen 6 Jakob Jakobsen b.1823 :Gen 7 Peroline Jakobsdtr. b.1865 :Gen 8 Ingvart Mikal Thomassen b.1894 :Gen 9 Odd Knut Thomassen b. 1931 :Gen 10 Oddrun Thomassen b.1967 : : :I belive that Jakob Andres Jakobsen Winther was Peder Tønders brother. You will find them at the farm Nordstrom in Tranoy in the Census for 1801. : Oddrun,
